What about appeals? VA limits its appeals APIs (Appeals Status, Appealable Issues, and Legacy Appeals) to VA and approved VA contractors with a specific agreement in place. We've asked VA what that process involves. Until then, you can check your appeals on VA.gov.
Nothing routes through a VetSITREP server, because there isn't one.

Login.gov or ID.me — the same identity verification VA.gov itself uses. Your username and password never touch VetSITREP.
Your device talks to VA directly
The app calls VA's official Lighthouse APIs over HTTPS from your phone. There's no VetSITREP backend in the middle to breach.
Tokens stay on your device
Encrypted in Android Keystore, cleared automatically after 15 minutes idle, and revoked the moment you sign out.
No ads, no analytics in the app, no selling data. There's nothing to monetize your information with — the app has no server to run that business model on.
Read-only, always. VetSITREP can't file, withdraw, or edit anything on your VA record. It only displays what's already there.
Uninstall = gone. No dormant account, no data sitting on a server somewhere. Removing the app removes everything.

Request access
VetSITREP is currently in closed testing while it goes through VA's production access review. Email [email protected] to request early access — no cost, no commitment.
Install the app
During closed testing you'll be added to the Android testing group and sent a Google Play link to install VetSITREP directly. Once production access is approved, it moves to a public Play Store listing anyone can install.

The Claims and Service History APIs are proven against VA's sandbox environment and are moving through VA's production access review before a public Play Store release. Appeals features are on hold until we learn what VA's agreement for its restricted appeals APIs requires.
